Acupulse by Lumenis Multimode™ SuperPulse™ CO2 laser

Fractional CO2 Laser - ActiveFX CO2, DeepFX CO2 and TotalFX CO2

The fractional CO-2 Acupulse by Lumenis is the new gold standard CO2 laser skin tightening and resurfacing system, combining 3 lasers in one device for improved efficiency.
Acupulse by Lumenis uses Bridge Therapy treatment technology: tiny laser beams penetrate the skin in a dot-like pattern which leaves “bridges” of untreated skin around each treated microdot. Higher percentage of untreated skin enables quicker healing.  Stimulates collagen. The ActiveFX is ideal for treating mild to moderate levels of wrinkling. The treatment causes the upper layer of skin to peel off and regenerate a layer of new, healthy skin. The DeepFX  is fantastic for wrinkles around the mouth and eyes. Is skin resurfacing for deeper wrinkles that have a dermal component it also uses a fractional pattern to aid in the regeneration process. The deep heating causes immediate collagen tightening and long-term collagen remodeling. The patient can expect softening and smoothing of wrinkles, with improved skin texture. Total FX combines the Active FX and Deep FX systems. The results are fractional resurfacing of the surface of your skin, removing sun damage and brown spots, as well as the deeper skin, removing wrinkles, scars, and uneven skin tone. Total FX is a complete resurfacing treatment capable of astounding results.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy consists in injecting the patient’s own concentrated platelets. Unlike traditional fillers, PRP uses the patient’s natural biology, triggering new cells production and collagen formation to address skin defects and volume loss. PRP helps improve skin tone, tightness, and texture. Its major cosmetic applications are: skin rejuvenation, volume loss, fine lines, wrinkles, and scars.

What are fine lines and wrinkles?

Wrinkles are an inevitable part of the natural aging process. As we become older our skin gets thinner, drier and less elastic. Our skin’s ability to protect itself from damage is also reduced as we age. Decreased production of natural oils dries our skin and makes it appear more wrinkled. Fat in the deeper layers of your skin diminishes. This causes loose, saggy skin and more-pronounced lines and crevices. Eventually, wrinkles, creases and lines form on our skin.

What causes fine lines and wrinkles

From smoking to sun exposure and even smiling, there are many possible causes of wrinkles. The first wrinkles to appear on our face tend to occur as a result of facial expressions. Sun damage, smoking, dehydration, some medications, as well as a number of other factors may also cause wrinkles to develop.

Wrinkles develop from incorrect repairs of injured elastic fibers and collagen fibers. Repeated extensions and compressions of the skin cause repeated injuries of extracellular fibers in derma. During the repairing process, some of the broken elastic fibers and collagen fibers are not regenerated and restored but replaced by altered fibers. When an elastic fiber is broken in an extended state, it may be replaced by a “long” collagen fiber. Accumulation of “long” collagen fibers makes part of the skin looser and stiffer, and as a consequence, a big fold of skin appears. When a “long” collagen is broken in a compressed state, it may be replaced by a “short” collagen fiber. The “shorter” collagen fibers will restrict the extension of “longer” fibers, and make the “long” fibers in a folding state permanently. A small fold, namely a permanent wrinkle, then appears.
